I was lucky enough to be invited to speak at the Green BIM Conference which took place last week (31.01.13) at The Building Centre. I’ve attended many BIM conferences, but this one was different; the focus was not BIM, but sustainability.
This was great, a refreshing view from all speakers on how BIM is helping to shape, calculate and analyse virtual buildings to reduce the often quoted 30% gap between design performance vs. constructed performance.
A nice write up from Dr Stephen Hamil can be found here.
Finally, thanks to the NBS & NLA for organising the event and to all the speakers:
Richard Waterhouse – RIBA (Conference Chair)
Chris Boyce – Capita Symonds
Elrond Burrell – Architype
Daniel Doran – BRE
Roy Evans – CIC
Brendan Patchell – RLB
Marilyn Standley – BIFM
John Gelder – NBS
Peter Trebilcock – Balfour Beatty
